sonunda piyasaya sürülmüş, karanlık bir ortama sahip bir aksiyon-rol
yapma oyunudur.
Çıktığı zamandaki bilgisayar oyunlarına kıyasla, elle çizilmiş bitmap grafikleri, kolay kavranan oyun yapısı ve yüksek oynanabilirliği ile firmaya ve oyun türüne büyük popülerlik kazandırmıştır. Öyle ki bilgisayar oyunları tarihinde az görünür bir şekilde başka bir firma Diablo’ya ek görev paketi (Hellfire, Sierra On-Line Entertainment Inc.) çıkarmıştır.
